Scope and Contents: The Writings, 1885-1929 series contains many poems written in both English and Swedish by Granere. The subject matter is largely academic or religious, with many poems written in memoriam of deceased faculty members or odes to the college. Also included is a one-act play written by Granere.
The Religious, 1895 and 1946 series contains a bound sermon book filled with Swedish sermons and various unbound sermons and prayers.
The Scholastic, 1877 and 1902 series contains Granere's anniversary speech to the class of 1877 as well as other speeches about the state of academic affairs at the college.
The Photographs series contains a photograph of Granere and his first wife in Paxton, Illinois as well as clippings of Old Main and some of the college's founding faculty.
The Miscellaneous, 1880-1889 series contains Granere's pocket-sized financial records and an obituary/posthumous biography written in Swedish.
